Timeline of day by day events.
The 2/2 Pioneer Battalion capture in Java resulted in the Battalion being split into smaller and smaller groups. For example, Williams Force (which mainly operated on the Burma end of the Railway) gradually split up over time until unrecognisable by March 1944. At the same time, the battalion had been reformed in Australia and sent to fight in New Guinea and Borneo.
The dates of each entry between the end of the Java Campaign and the end of the war are shaded in different colours to show what the different groups were doing at the same time. RED is Williams Force, BLUE is Major Woods Party, GRAY is Captain Bishop Party, GOLD is Tamarkan Camp and GREEN is reformed Battalion.
