Background : Arrived in Japan September 1944 aboard hellship Kibitsu Maru (survivor rescued by Japanese after hellship Rakuyo Maru sinking). Part of the Kawasaki group. 11/11/1944 Incorrectly reported in the Argus 'Death on active service' column. Repatriated from Sakata P.O.W. camp (north-west Honshu) in Japan to Australia on the aircraft carrier H.M.S. Formidable in October 1945. Step-brother of VX20393 Bryan Foster 2/2 Pioneer Battalion (K.I.A. in Syria).
