Background : He joined up in Melbourne and started service in the 2nd Armoured Division then was transferred to 3rd Armoured Division before being transferred to the 2/2nd Pioneers where he was till the end of the war. He went to an Island (Morotai?) then on to Borneo. He was discharged from the Pioneers in Hobart, Tasmania.
