Australian Defence Attache coin which was given to the group. On the first side there is a Kangaroo over a background of the bisected Australian and Indonesian flags. Below the Kangaroo are crosses Keris. The Keris is a traditional Javanese dagger which is still worn during ceremonial occasions. The Australian Defence Staff Motto: 'Neighbours Partners Friends' is written around the upper circumference of the coin, and 'Australian Defence Staff Indonesia' is written on the lower circumference of the coin, separated by the Australian Federal Star. On the reverse side of the coin there is an Indonesian Garuda (the mythical Eagle which is the national symbol of Indonesia), with the Indonesian five-pointed star in the middle of its chest. Behind the Garuda is the Rising Sun Badge, the symbol of the Australian Army. In its talons, the Garuda is clutching a Javanese Keris on the left and native Australian throwing spears, a woomera, and a sprig of wattle. The words Tetangga Mitra Sahabat, meaning Neighbour Partner Friend, are written on the upper circumference and the word Abadi, meaning forever, written on the lower circumference.
