I notice many children of P.O.W.s have heard similar stories from their dad. Ours taught us to count to 100 in Japanese. Also Kotche Koi which means Come Here. Since other children of P.O.W.s did not hear these stories, because dad did not return or dad did not talk about the war, maybe we should share these stories on this forum. It was special, at school, to be able to say "I can speak Japanese". Did any other kids hear about the snail plague, where the Japanese paid the prisoners for the snails that they collected?
